One of the Best Metal Gear Solid Outings There Is (4.5 Stars) The Good:+Amazing Presentation+Engaging Story, For the Most Part+A lot of different gameplay elements at hand+A lot of things to keep you busy. Several missions and side opsThe Bad:-There might be a little too much to do. Metal Gear Solid V is amazing, but there’s a lot of side ops and moments of padding.-The story is good, but doesn’t quite have the emotional pull of the previous games in the series. The cutscenes are less about character building and more about plot exposition. Considering all the things Metal Gear Solid V wants to say, it’s amazing that not more of these things are conveyed in the game amazing cinematics. Instead, much of what you learn in the plot and story is put to cassette tapes—NOTE: The Following Review is LongFor years Metal Gear Solid has been a staple in storytelling and gameplay innovation in video games. NOT A PIKACHU says:

Hideo Kojima’s Swan Song to the Metal Gear Solid Series I’m currently about 20 hours into Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Hideo Kojima’s farewell masterpiece produced by the infamous pachinko makers, Konami. And already, this is shaping up to be arguable the best Metal Gear Solid installment yet. Already known for its refined sneaking and stealth mechanics, MGSV: TPP somehow further builds on the control mechanics of its MGS predecessors. This is probably some of the most exhilarating sneaking experience I’ve had in any game. That is to say that the prior Metal Gear Solid games only allowed me to take one relatively predetermined path from point A to point B with some obstacles and structured sequence of events in between. The Phantom Pain is designed to be a whole lot more flexible, replacing the consecutive segments of old with an expansive list of selectable “missions” that you can revisit as often as you’d like. This is familiar territory to those who have played the PSP prequel, Metal Gear…

Script your own Hollywood blockbuster! In one of the side missions (side-op), the goal is to eliminate the enemy General. The only person who has information on his location is his trusted Soviet Captain. Naturally, I was supposed to tail the Capitan to find out the general’s hiding place. However, during the mission, I accidentally killed the Capitan when I was actually aiming for his body guards (/facepalm). In any other game, that would be “game over”. Time to restart at the check point. Not in this game!Since my only lead is gone, I decided to search the military outposts one by one to try to identify the General. After thoroughly searching 2 outposts with no luck. I got a radio call saying radar detected several Jeeps mobilizing in one of the nearby outpost and they were heading to the extraction point. I thought this must be the General trying to make his escape! So I got on my trusted horse (yes, you get to ride a gorgeous horse in this game), checked the map for short cut, figured I…
