It’s like a onion, layered and it may bring some tears out So here’s my “knee jerk” reaction to ‘Monster Hunter World’. It’s the first Monster Hunter game that I have put this much time in. (150+hrs in this game at the time of this “quick review”)I tried to play ‘Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate – Nintendo Wii U ‘ -I got SO SICK of loading screens, and monsters running off and the crappy controls and the horrid textures,.. the most time I put into it was probably 25 hrs max. I literally bought a Wii U just for the game & was horribly disappointed. To give context where I’m coming from with my review:I’ve played & beaten the following “Action RPGS”Horizon Zero DawnDevil May Cry1&2(It has rpg elements)Dragons DogmaLost Planet 2DemonsSoulsDarkSouls 1-3BloodborneNierAutoMataNioh (The best)TheSurgeSo, you’ve bought Monster Hunter World because you were excited by the trailers and the concept! Finally Capcom is bringing the game to…

It’s great overall, but… I’ve played Monster Hunter games since Tri on the Wii. I dabbled with the first two, but I never got far (not surprising since I was such a young lass).Overall, it took a quite a bit of time, but Monster Hunter World grew on me.Here are my personal pros and cons (warning: slight bias).PROS:1. Once I really got into it, it became addicting just like the former MH games I’ve played.2. It’s neat to not have to buy pickaxes or bug nets and automatically have them. You’re able to use them an unlimited amount of time without them breaking. They also don’t take up space in your item pouch as in previous games.3. The single player is MUCH more enjoyable to me. Don’t get me wrong, I never bought Monster Hunter and expected a killer single player mode with a brilliant story and superb voice acting, etc., but it’s actually very interesting this time.4. Even though I am more experienced with this series, it is much easier to get accustomed to than…

Awesome game. I have never played a monster hunter game and was convinced by a coworker to buy it. Did not like it at first, since the learning curve is quite steep, but at the same time, once you get into, it is a lot of fun. There are a lot of things to do, explore, and craft. Loading screens suck though, but according to my coworker, at least I have the option of going to switch items rapidly as opposed to going in and out of loading screens like previous games. Some things could be better, such as the matchmaking and all, but it seems that problems mostly occur on xbox only. The other major problem, seems to be when people drop out of a quest when you are hunting a monster, it seems that the overall HP of the monster doesn’t drop even when you are the only player left. So, this makes it very hard to sometimes finish quests if you have a jacked up monster fighting you. There are some other things I could nitpick on, but those are, for the most part minor. I honestly did not expect…
